After starting her training in 2016 with Intimacy Directors International, Phay has trained with organisations and mentors across Canada and North America. She was the first person in British Columbia to pursue this training, and her passion led her to help in the creation of the National Society of Intimacy Professionals, sitting as co-chair (2021-2023), secretary (2023-2024), and vice chair (current) . They earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English with honours from University of the Fraser Valley with distinction.
In 2020, Phay joined Principal Intimacy Professionals and is now a Coordinator for PIP’s SAG-AFTRA-accredited Launchpad Training Program, a pay-what-is-sustainable certification training for prospective Intimacy Professionals. After helping to create and develop the program, Phay spent over four years piloting the program as a student and as an instructor, and was officially certified as an Intimacy Director and Instructor/Facilitator in 2024, and Intimacy Coordinator in 2025.
Phay has supported productions all over the Lower Mainland as an intimacy professional in film, television, and theatre. Past credits include Oscar-qualifying short film Auganic (Krit Komkrichwarakool), 2023 UBCP/ACTRA Award winner Golden Delicious (Jason Karman), 2022 Jessie Award winner Bunny (Search Party Productions), 2021 Leo Award Winner FREYA (Camille Hollett-French), short film Cuello (Crazy8s), Superman & Lois (Warner Bros), and A Million Little Things S5 (ABC, DJ Nash).

Testimonials
[Phay] created a beautifully honest and safe space, and her choreography was as stunning as it was safe and simple to do. She helped us approach this sensitive and complicated piece of theatre with compassion and professionalism. The show could not have happened without her.
— Andie Lloyd, stage manager for bare: a pop opera
We could not have done what we did on the set of Golden Delicious without the support of Megan, Phay and Karyn. I’m so glad we went on this journey together and I’ll hold our time together near and dear. I’m so thankful for the way they took such good care of us, and I can’t wait to see the film all come together.
Cardi Wong, Performer: Golden Delicious (Indie Feature)
I’d work with [Phay] again in a heartbeat. She has been the sole reason I’ve felt safe in multiple scenarios, and I can’t possibly thank her enough for that. She clearly loves intimacy work, and her skill and care shines through in everything she does. Her work is thoughtful and incredibly detailed. Such a strong emphasis is placed on the comfort of the actors involved, and yet the limitations do not sacrifice realism and chemistry whatsoever. It’s a bewildering balancing act that I’m lucky I’ll never have to figure out on my own, since I know precisely whom to turn to.
